Asbestos Supervisor and Asbestos Operative vacancies

Countrywide Environmental Services Ltd are looking for competent / experienced asbestos removal supervisors and operatives to join our growing company on a full time basis. These opportunities have become available to support numerous frameworks offering consistent work.

Candidates MUST:

  • Have excellent English communication skills
  • Hold a Category B driving licence (CLEAN) preferred
  • Live local to Manchester or Liverpool
  • Existing operatives should have at least 18 months experience.
  • DBS checked is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Job Location: Manchester /  Liverpool primarily

Licenses or certifications: Driving Licence (preferred)

Industry based asbestos medical, training & face fits tests (required)

Global Asbestos Awareness Week

Asbestos is a renowned carcinogen which has been used extensively in construction, engineering, manufacturing, shipbuilding, and the automotive industries. There is no safe exposure level.

Global Asbestos Awareness Week is dedicated to awareness and prevention. The 2019 Global Asbestos Awareness Week focuses on:

  1. Banning the mining, manufacturing, and use of asbestos
  2. Preventing asbestos exposure
  3. Increasing compliance and enforcement of existing laws and regulations
  4. Strengthening international partnerships

Exposure to asbestos, a human carcinogen, can cause mesothelioma, lung and ovarian cancers, as well as non-malignant lung and pleural disorders. It is estimated that 4-5,000 people will die from asbestos related illness in the UK this year. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 107,000 workers around the world will die every year of an asbestos-related disease. This equates to 300 deaths per day.

The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organisation (ADAO) is an organisation which combines education and advocacy to help ensure justice for asbestos victims. They work toward an asbestos-free future. The 13th Annual “Global Asbestos Awareness Week” has been launched, which runs from 1-7 April.

Countrywide support the endeavours to raise awareness of the effects of asbestos. We undertake asbestos removal in Liverpool, Manchester, North West and further afield for specific projects.

The HSE has awarded Countrywide Environmental Services Ltd with a 3 year asbestos removal licence following the successful renewal process. This licence is valid until October 2021.  The award follows a rigorous review of our management systems, technical knowledge and safety performance.
