The Presidents Award – 11 Consecutive Gold Awards

Countrywide Environmental, based in Prescot have received a prestigious RoSPA Gold Award for the 11th consecutive year, demonstrating commitment to health and safety excellence. This award is known as the President’s Award.

Over the past decade, Countrywide have consistently maintained the RoSPA Gold Standard, reflecting its unwavering dedication to compliance, protecting client reputations, and giving peace of mind to all clients. Commercial property owners, social housing providers Universities, NHS Trusts to local authorities are served.

2026 marks the 70^th anniversary of the RoSPA Awards.  This began as a small event to recognise the achievements of companies prioritising the safety of workers in UK, and has now grown into the biggest and most prestigious health and safety awards programme in the world. The 2026 awards are attracting 2,000 different entries from nearly 60 countries.

Addressing Need, Building Opportunity

In response to requests from Whitefield School and its community partners, Countrywide has contributed match funding to enable the expansion of a food project designed to promote and provide budget-friendly, healthy meals to local families. This builds directly on the success of the existing Warm Spaces Family Cooking Club. The after school sessions provide a location in which families prepare an accessible, nutritious meal together and then share the meal as part of a family experience.

The project has been so well received that demand has outstripped capacity, resulting in a waiting list. The infusion of funding from Countrywide and partners will allow the scheme to continue, reach more families, and maintain positive impact.

Impact in the Community

• Increased reach: The funding will allow additional cohorts of families to join the cooking club.
• Health & education synergy: Beyond nutrition, the project supports food literacy, cooking skills, budgeting, and family bonding.
• Social value delivered locally: The scheme aligns with Countrywide’s pledge to deliver tangible social value in the communities where it operates.
• Sustainability & continuity: With matched funding, the project is less vulnerable to interruptions and can better plan for longer-term operations.

The school were delighted that Countrywide stepped in to support the growth of this vital programme. Families tell us they’ve gained confidence in preparing healthy meals, and the shared mealtime experience helps strengthen family ties. The demand has been greater than we anticipated. This funding is exactly what we needed to meet that demand.

About the Warm Spaces Family Cooking Club

The Warm Spaces Family Cooking Club was launched at Whitefield School to provide a warm, welcoming environment where families can learn, cook, and dine together. Sessions are held after school; participants are guided through preparing a simple, healthy, cost-effective meal, then sit down to eat together. The scheme combines nutrition education, cooking skills, and social support — helping families eat better without stretching budgets.
